Building tech careers where they are needed most.
Levvel is an organizational change management firm, and one belief runs through our work: people are where lasting results come from. That belief shaped our social impact too. Before change management became our sole focus, we ran a software testing line of business, and from it grew two programs, one in Rwanda and one here at home, that opened the door to technology careers for people the industry too often overlooks.
Impact built into the work itself.
We believe the most valuable thing you can give someone is a skill the world actually wants. So we built our social impact into what we do: our software testing line of business became a training pathway, teaching a marketable, in-demand skill to people who rarely get a foot in the door of the technology industry.
It is a simple idea with a long reach. A durable skill becomes a job, a job becomes a career, and a career changes what someone can build for themselves and the people around them.
Muraho Technology, Rwanda
Muraho Technology trained 100 women in Rwanda as software testers. Levvel helped make it happen: we helped secure the grant that let the program launch and run, and we still connect employers in Canada with that talent in Rwanda. Software testing travels well; it can be done from almost anywhere, which makes it a rare on-ramp into the global tech economy.
SAGE Techwork™, Canada
SAGE Techwork™ brought the same idea home. A 12-week program modelled on Muraho Technology’s work in Rwanda and run with Community Futures Treaty Seven, it prepared two cohorts of Treaty 7 First Nation students to enter the workforce as software testers.
One idea connects both. The goal was always a durable skill and the confidence to use it. That is the same principle behind our client work today: build real capability in people, and the results outlast the engagement.
With thanks to our partners: Community Futures Treaty Seven and Eagle Spirit Business Development in Canada, and Muraho Technology in Rwanda.
Opportunity is something you build on purpose.
These programs grew from a belief we still hold: the educational, employment, and technical skill gaps facing underrepresented talent, and Indigenous talent in particular, close faster when real opportunity is put within reach. We keep that commitment close to the ground: we work with Indigenous-owned businesses where we can, and our team has completed the University of Alberta’s Indigenous Canada course.
Levvel is now wholly focused on organizational change management, and the software testing line of business is behind us. The relationships it built carry on: we stay close to both communities, and we keep connecting their talent with employers who are glad to find it. The craft is different now; the belief is the same.
